Hula is Life!

Hula is Life!  Understanding Hawai’i through Music and Dance will be presented from 1-3 pm Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures.  Colorado Springs resident Kristin Schickler, a former professional hula dancer, will be performing with her brother, Harry Williams, on ukulele.

After their performance, Schickler will discuss the history of hula, and Williams will explain his craft of handmade ukuleles.  Williams is the founder of Williams & Son Luthier and Stringed Instrument Repair in Fort Collins

In the Museum’s Main Gallery, Living Aloha:  Hawai’i’s Enduring Legacy will be closing Jan. 19.  The $5/person admission fee to the Jan. 12th performance includes entry into the Museum’s four galleries.
